Harboring Excellence. Rooted in Legacy. Rising Together.
The Mid-Atlantic Educators of Color Conference (MAECC) is more than a moment—it’s a movement. A regional gathering where educators of color come together in community, drawing strength from our shared stories, our cultural brilliance, and the legacy of those who paved the way.
Set in the heart of the Baltimore/DMV region, where the echoes of Black excellence still ring—from Frederick Douglass to Frances Ellen Watkins Harper—MAECC is a space to reflect, restore, and rise. Together, we build professional networks, deepen our practice, and celebrate the everyday excellence found in our classrooms, our communities, and ourselves.
Small by design, purpose-driven at the core, this gathering honors the power of local voices and nurtures a growing regional network. Across independent and public schools, we’re building bridges, exchanging wisdom, and lifting each other up to lead with vision, resilience, and joy.
This is where we gather.
This is where we grow.

Call for Proposals
This is where you come in - we want programming that is timely, important, and supportive of you and your work. What do you want to discuss in-depth? What do you want to learn about? What resources do you want to share with others? What conversations do you want to have?
Priority will be given to proposals that fit in one of our guiding topics and to those individuals who have not had an opportunity to present in the past. Sessions can include panel discussions, engaging activities, or large group discussions.
Proposals are due by November 15, 2025. Further questions? Reach out to Priscilla Morales, Associate Head of School at The Park School of Baltimore, at pmorales@parkschool.net
